My name is Marcia Ribeiro Ferreira, I was born on Monday February 24th 1975 in Jaguarão, a city in the very south of Brazil, in the boarder with Uruguay, on the state of Rio Grande do Sul. I lived my first years on a farm called Bretanhas and from the age of 7 until the age of 19 I lived in the city of Pelotas where I started my studies in Business Administration which I followed later in Porto Alegre where I lived from 1993 to 1995.

In the year of 1996 I decided to move to Montevideo (Uruguay) and try a different career. I started then to learn Fashion Design in Peter Hamers Fashion Academy. I also had the opportunity on August 1999 to take part in Domus Academy Fashion Design summer session intensive course in Milan (Italy).

In 2001, having finished my studies on the Fashion Academy of the Dutchman Peter Hamers in Montevideo, aiming to deepen my knowledges in Fashion I moved to Barcelona (Spain) where I did a three-months intensive course about textiles and fabrics in the IDEP school and later I followed my studies in ESDi, Higher School of Design, where I received a Higher Degree in Design on Fabrics and Fashion Design specialization as well as the degree of Bachelor of Arts in Fashion from the University of Southampton (England).

Still in Barcelona, I did an internship at the style and forecast agency Gloria Jover and was invited later to prepare a clothing collection with African and European fabrics to the Globe of Art boutique. Besides that I did an exclusive women’s clothing collection with Indian fabrics that was sold on Mutate boutique in José Ignacio (Uruguay). After that I was called to create limited edition women’s wear collections and exclusive dresses.

In 2004 I went to live in Paris (France) to continue working on selected garments. In 2008 I arrived in São Paulo decided to have my own brand and finally on 2010 I settled in Florianópolis to continue developing Partícula Um, a brand that stands for limited productions in which every piece is unique and unpretentious with the only focus of aiming on high-quality.
